| About Corey Eller... | ![]() |
| Corey's first instrument was built out of necessity. He wanted an electric guitar and needed a project for his high school shop. It was then, in 1992, that an idea was born. For his next project he built a double-neck acoustic guitar. It was stolen at the competition where it was being shown. A passion was born. He realized how attached he could be to this piece of art, and besides, if it was good enough to steal, someone else must like his work. | |
| After high school graduation, he attended Timeless Instruments in Saskatchewan, Canada, under the instruction of Dave Freeman. He returned home as a Certified Luthier and began building for friends and family. As he honed his craft he began taking orders and has built numerous instruments including guitars, mandolins and bouzoukis. Bill Cooley, who plays with country artist Kathy Mattea, has a mandola built by Corey. This instrument has been featured on a Christmas special aired on PBS. He has also built a specialty electric guitar which is displayed by the rock band Great White. | |
| Corey's business has had several names over the years, before settling on Willow Tree Stringed Instruments. He enjoys building custom instruments and needs as much input from the customer as possible in order to create an instrument that is perfect for them. Corey also does custom inlay work. While his inlay work is excellent now, it is a skill that he looks forward to taking to another level. In addition to building custom instruments, he is kept very busy doing repair work for a local music store. | |
| Corey is a member of the Guild Of American Luthiers. He has attended their convention as well as ASIA's convention. He is also a Certified Repair Technician for Fender and Alvarez. Corey is also an authorized retrofitter for the Buzz Feiten Tuning System. | |
| Thanks for visiting the Willow Tree Stringed Instruments web site. Corey looks forward to hearing from you and designing and building an instrument that is perfect for you. | |
